Astro Warrior (アストロウォーリアー) is an early Sega Master System game developed and published by Sega in 1986. It is a very basic vertical scrolling shoot-'em-up, in which the player pilots a spaceship and is tasked with destroying as many enemies and structures as possible. At the end of each galaxy there is a boss.
As a stand-alone game, Astro Warrior was never released in Europe (bar Portugal), instead being bundled on the same cartridge as Pit-Pot in Astro Warrior / Pit Pot. In North America, it was bundled with Hang-On in Hang-On / Astro Warrior. The game was also brought to arcades through Mega-Tech hardware.
The game was re-released in Brazil and Portugal as Sapo Xulé: S.O.S. Lagoa Poluída in 1996, based on Sapo Xulé, a popular 1980s toy from Brazil.
