For some reason Im seeing that program pic zoomed into the top on the sega game gear page. I don't know how to fix it.--MathUser (talk) 13:49, 10 July 2022 (EDT)

It's a known bug that occurs with the bobscreen template. It happens with the screenshot you added because it's at an image resolution it shouldn't be at.
Also, please don't use my user page to contact me. That's what the user talk pages are for. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 14:08, 10 July 2022 (EDT)

links

I dont know why, but I cant get past that puzzle screen to post internet links. Is there a way to skip that screen or anything?--MathUser (talk) 15:28, 13 July 2022 (EDT)

All regular users are required to complete the CAPTCHA when adding new external links. It cannot be skipped for security reasons. If you can't get past it, then you're either solving it improperly or something is going wrong. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 16:01, 13 July 2022 (EDT)
I have the same problem on other websites too. I was gonna add a reference. --MathUser (talk) 16:15, 13 July 2022 (EDT)
If you have the same problems with solving CAPTCHAs on other sites, then it sounds like a "you" problem - you may be solving them incorrectly, or your browser may have problems with them. If it's the latter, try using a different browser. If it's neither you or your browser, then try again later. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 16:31, 13 July 2022 (EDT)

--Yeah, i still cant us weblinks. I have to leave a space between the http:// --MathUser (talk) 22:40, 16 July 2022 (EDT)

Ok I guess i'll let you do the rest.--MathUser (talk) 22:56, 16 July 2022 (EDT)

Upload SMS Action Replay

the cdn uploader says this might have a virus, is there any way to fix it? http:// www.tototek.com/pio/main1/OTHER/SMSCHEAT/smscodes.htm

remove the space after // to get a link--MathUser (talk) 13:01, 17 July 2022 (EDT)

The virus warning is part of MediaWiki software and will always be displayed for certain file types. Just ignore it. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 13:03, 17 July 2022 (EDT)

Questions

I have a few more questions on my talk page that I'd like you to answer.-Lukdriver14 (talk) 13:47, 19 August 2022 (EDT)

After some thoughts, I want to wait with this whole blocking thing and think about all of it once again and also hear the answers to my questions.-Lukdriver14 (talk) 18:15, 19 August 2022 (EDT)

Stop

Stop blocking CZ because he didn't do anything. Appeals (talk) 08:26, 26 August 2022 (EDT)!

Sorry, but we already went over this on Sonic Retro. We aren't giving him a chance. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 08:33, 26 August 2022 (EDT)
Why cant you tho? CZ even send a email using my account 08:45, 26 August 2022 (EDT)
Because we'd rather not do so, and our stance still stands. Since you're only here to bother me, it's best to deal with you too. Bye bye. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 08:51, 26 August 2022 (EDT)

This

I can understand that you have a lot of things on your mind and I can understand that perhaps it isn't an easy process, but 4 months from this request and still too long. I just don't want it to take years or anyone to forget about it, I just want it to be done quickly and efficiently. I'll get it over with and you won't be bothered by me again. - L14 (talk) 09:09, 13 December 2022 (EST)

We will get around to un-personing you. Just don't continually make accounts like this just to hound us about it. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 10:40, 13 December 2022 (EST)

640x492

I noticed 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker/Comparisons is having some fun with that GameCube screenshot, because it doesn't know how to deal with 640x492

I can fix it, but... is that actually the right resolution? I mean it might be, I don't know much about the GameCube, but but it's looking blurrier than I'd have expected(?) -Black Squirrel (talk) 17:54, 12 January 2023 (EST)

I've started to notice something is up with the GameCube screenshots I've uploaded. For some reason Dolphin has started to output them at 640x492 instead of 640x480 which is leading to some inconsistency issues (look at Sonic Mega Collection), and I don't know how to change that.
I had asked around in different Discord servers, and only one person has told me that it's normal, but I have my doubts about that. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 18:06, 12 January 2023 (EST)
Alright, so it turns out that somehow "Dump at Internal Resolution" got unchecked somehow. Not sure how it happened - probably from the last beta update or something else. However, the black bar is still there for 18 Wheeler even at 640x480, so I might have to edit the 492 screenshot by hand to remove it if that is acceptable.
Either way, I'll look into retaking all the other screenshots I took at this weird 492 resolution. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 18:34, 12 January 2023 (EST)

Date and Price

Thanks for the correction. Regarding the way the date is written, should we avoid writing it as "-xx"? Also, I would like to continue to include sales tax like "e" and "i". Is this problematic? -Akiyama Akane (talk) 14:19, 5 February 2023 (EST)

The removal of "-xx" from the release dates is just for the sake of consistency with release fields on other pages, e.g. similiar to how most release dates for Dynamite Headdy are displayed in its bob.
The sales tax inclusions are still good to have, so you can still add those. :) --SorachiJirachi (talk) 14:52, 5 February 2023 (EST)

Sonic Retro

Yo. Becuase I don't have account there and I don't want to have from the fact that I collected only very small part of stuff that belong there, I wanted to ask you about one favor. Can you put this stuff that I got here on Sonic Retro? I promise, that I won't be bothering you any more with that.

  • Commercials of Sonic Dance Power 4, Sonic Dance Power II, Sonic Dance, Sonic Dance Power VII and Sonic Dance Power V from Netherlands
  • Commercials of Sonic (8-bit) and Sonic and Knuckles from Netherlands
  • Advert of Sonic 16-bit from Iceland
  • Physical scans for Sonic 16-bit and Sonic & Knuckles for Lithuania with information about missing manual (Source: Mickey Mouse #35 "1/1996" Puiki naujiena Sega gerbejams!)
  • Front and Back page of RU/CIS (Buka) Manual of Sonic 2 (site says about 'The D' but every manual from Buka have the same front and back pages no matter of game so this could be for now better than nothing. I suggest to upload this one for RETRO CDN because few pages on Sega Retro would use this image.)
  • Adverts of Sonic 3D (16-bit), published in December 1996 and early 1997 from Turkey (also for RETRO CDN because some pages on Sega Retro need it)

Much obliged.-Geti3220 (talk) 19:36, 25 February 2023 (EST)

There's quite a few tasks there and I typically don't have all the time I have to be able to do all of these. Even if you aren't going to add much to Sonic Retro, you can still make a new account there and add what you need. Also, you can use your current Sega Retro/CDN account to upload any files that can be shared between wikis to the CDN. --SorachiJirachi (talk) 11:54, 26 February 2023 (EST)

Incoming

There's a strange quirk in Incoming/Technical information - the 0GDTEX.PVR shows a PAL-style disc for the Japanese release... but Incoming came out in Japan almost a year before PAL regions (and indeed the PAL console itself). So I sought out a copy for myself

...and turns out, Japanese Incoming doesn't have a custom 0GDTEX image... which either means your source has made some wrong assumptions, or I've made some wrong assumptions when linking images up to pages. Either way, there might be more wrong pages

The mistake wasn't made with Rage Software's other game, Expendable/Technical information, so it might be a one-off... but it might not be. -Black Squirrel (talk) 18:04, 11 September 2024 (EDT)

Oh, it doesn't? Well, considering the ZIP file I linked to is missing even a few games, demo discs and whatnot, I suppose it isn't too surprising there'd be a few mistakes in there. If you'd like, the link to the ZIP is still there in my post on the forums so you can have a check inside for future comparisons.
Though in the case with Japanese Incoming the ZIP has two copies, one for V1.001 and one for V2.000, and Redump only lists a V2.000 dump, so that could be looked into if the copy you found is V1.001. And now that you bring up games without custom 0GDTEX images, we'll probably need the default 0GDTEX image ripped for those games.
If I may ask, since I can't do boot ROM stuff with Redream, what do you use to check/rip the images? --SorachiJirachi (talk) 18:22, 11 September 2024 (EDT)
Get to the title screen and do a software reset. Although that only works if the game has implemented it properly ;)
I was using GDROM Explorer to... explore the GD-ROM part, although you need a GDI dump for that, not BIN/CUE -Black Squirrel (talk) 03:53, 12 September 2024 (EDT)
And the software reset trick only also works if I have a boot ROM set up in Redream's directory...which I haven't set up. Now don't I feel silly?
What's even more silly is that using that from using that tool and doing a software reset, neither dump of Worms Armageddon has a custom 0GDTEX image, so I suppose the source I found must have made a few of these images up. Would be a good idea to deduce that any game using just a scan of the disc for a 0GDTEX as potentially invalid.
That said, we'll need the default 0GDTEX images from the boot ROM if we can (both red and blue). --SorachiJirachi (talk) 10:17, 12 September 2024 (EDT)
