「誰にでも簡単に音楽のノリが楽しめるゲームを」・・・そんな発想からスタートしたモグラッパー。 「誰にでも手軽に?うーんそうだな、「モグラたたき」みたいにお手軽に楽しめて・・・」 「どんな音楽?ゲームに使いやすい音楽で・・・「ラップ』だ!」それじゃ名前は・・・「モグラッパー」 まぁ、わかりやすい(笑) 開発者の僕も、どちらかというと音楽が好きな方とは言え、いざ開発に着手すると、わからない事ばかり。当然(?)僕は作詞作曲なんてできないし、ましてゲームに合わせた曲なんて・・・「どーしよう!?」 上司に相談しつつケツをたたかれ、コネ伝いでたどり着いたのがラジオでDJもやってるという外人ラッパー「トーマスキング」さん!はたして大丈夫なのだろうか?コミュニケーションは?声や曲のやり取りは?不安はふくらむばかり・・・一方、曲をセガのサウンドスタッフに作ってもらう・・・バラつきを持たせる為、できるだけそれぞれに違いを感じる曲を用意。 少ない時間の中、周りの開発スタッフに迷惑をかけながら、作業は進んでいく・・・。 レコーディングは、「ゲームとしてのバランス」と「音楽的バランス」という2つの条件を満たすものを目指していく為、作詞しながら調整してゆくスタイルに。 しかも、トーマスさんは、声を切り替え「先生ボイス」と「プレーヤーボイス」の両方を掛け持つので短い曲ながらも大変な作業にかくして、できあがったモグラッパーサウンド。
