Munehiro Umemura (梅村 宗宏) is a Japanese film producer, notable for film adaptations of Mushiking, Yakuza and Love and Berry: Dress Up and Dance!, and former corporate PR manager for Sega Enterprises who co-ran Harmony for 9 years.

Career

Munehiro Umemura began his career as a merchandiser, stocking products sold by the music division of Seibu Department Stores. He joined Sega Enterprises in 1992 and worked as a corporate PR manager, co-running the corporate newsletter Harmony with Rica Terajima. In 2001, he instead began producing films starting with the Jam Films series, followed by the film Female, which created by much of the same staff. For Sega in the mid-2000's, he was involved with film adaptations of Mushiking, Yakuza and Oshare Majo: Love and Berry.

His film experience was brought to Sega's IPs starting in 2004 when he served as assistant producer of the animated series Kouchuu Ouja Mushiking: Mori no Tami no Densetsu., followed by planning the direct-to-DVD film Ryu ga Gotoku: Joshou which acts as a prequel to the video game Yakuza. He was the executive producer behind Kouchuu Ouja Mushiking: Official Battle DVD, Oshare Majo Love and Berry: Dance Collection 2006 Summer and Like a Dragon.

Umemura left Sega shortly thereafter and beaome CEO of Omega Project in 2008. He established Mu Entertainment in 2009. He worked at Marvelous from 2013 to 2023 as CCO. In August 2023, he became the manager of Theatre H.
