Marketeers
From Sega Retro
Towards the end of the 1990s, it became fashionable in the video game industry to give more power to marketing teams - people whose sole job is to promote Sega's video games and manage press/public relations. It is something of a double-edged sword - while those involved in marketing are more likely to stick to a given message, they are less likely to know the ins-and-outs of video game production.
Typically "marketeers" speak on behalf of the company, so are usually repsonsible for announcing new product releases and are most likely to engage in interviews with the press.
