Love and Berry: Dress Up and Dance!, known in Japan as Oshare Majo Love and Berry (オシャレ魔女 ラブandベリー, lit. "Fashionable Witches Love and Berry") is an arcade and collectible card game from Sega released for the Sega System SP arcade hardware in 2004. It is targeted toward girls between ages 6-12, and uses the same child-sized, 130cm tall cabinet design as the similar Dinosaur King and Mushiking games. As of January 2006, there are 180 different cards to collect, approximately 6,800 machines have been installed, and 104 million cards have been dispensed.

Plot
Love and Berry are magical princesses who possess the power of "Fashion Magic", which allows them to change clothes instantaneously. Both girls love dressing up and dancing. Though they are friends, they are rivals when it comes to being the most noticeable girl on the dance floor. Love is dubbed by voice actress Hiromi Konno, and Berry by Hisayo Yanai.
Gameplay
Every time a player inserts credits into the machine, a collectible card is dispensed for the player to use. This can range from a Dress Up, Hair & Makeup, Footwear or Special card. The player then selects from six different game modes. After selecting a game mode, the player can select one of six locations. With the exception of Dress Up Research and 2-Player Competition, the player can pick whether to play as Love or Berry.
After a character is selected, the player may scan any type of cards in any particular order within a time limit to change the hair, dress, shoes, and make-up of the character. The game calculates the "Dress Up power" from the overall appearance of the character, which is displayed on a bar on the side of the screen (Left for Love, right for Berry). The game then proceeds to a rhythm game, which is played by tapping one of the buttons in time to the tambourine tapping onscreen as the characters dance.
After the rhythm game, the player receives an overall fashion rating based on how well the outfit cards are coordinated, as well as their performance in the rhythm game. The player with the highest fashion rating is deemed the winner.
History
The game was first shown in amusement arcades on October 2004 and became very popular among its Japanese target market in late 2005 through 2006. Updates and service for the game continued to run until September 2008. It was released on Nintendo DS as Oshare Majo Love and Berry: DS Collection.
In March 2007, an anime movie based on the game, called Love and Berry Dress Up and Dance!: Magic of Happiness (オシャレ魔女♥ラブandベリー しあわせのまほう), was produced by Sega and TMS Entertainment.
Sega Logistics Service announced it would end service on the machines on March 31, 2017.[2][3]
