Story
Pink Panther has traveled to MGM Studios in Hollywood, California to audition for a big role. However, Inspector Clouseau wants to foil Pink's chances at stardom and causes chaos on every movie set Pink visits.
Gameplay
The game is a platformer played as the Pink Panther cartoon character, who makes his way through several stages themed after movies. Inspector Clouseau occasionally appears to antagonize him.
Pink walks with or and runs with or . He ducks with , jumps with , and jumps off thin platforms with +. He cannot attack enemies by jumping on them, but instead punches them with an extendable boxing glove with . Some enemies take multiple hits to defeat, while some cannot be defeated at all and can only be knocked back or avoided. He enters doorways with while standing in front of them (including hidden doorways, such as those hidden behind bookcases).
Pink can find items for his "Bag of Tricks": a stoplight that freezes enemies or a jackhammer that pulverizes them. When he has an item, he can use it with when standing still. Items are lost if not used on the current stage. He can also find "Toll Cards" that he can use in Toll Booths that appear in set places on some stages. There are three types, each with a different effect: Magic Carpet, Bridge/Stairs, and Umbrella. Once used, Toll Cards can be collected again from their original location if necessary. Using Toll Booths is often necessary to complete a stage.
Pink has a health bar that depletes as he is damaged by enemies or hazards. He loses a life if he runs out of health and loses the game if he runs out of lives. The options allow the player to set the difficulty level (Easy, Normal, Hard) or the starting lives (from 3 to 7).
