Service Games, Hawaii
From Sega Retro
After doing some research for my term paper, I found this article in some old newspapers thanks to newspapers.com. This article is from 1946 in December and as you can see, it claims that Service Games was started on the 1st day of September in that same year. Almost everywhere I checked, the claim was that the Service Games was started in 1945, not 1946. I know I am being very pedantic, but I do wish to know where does this information come from? -Konim96
- It was probably deduced... because if I remember correctly there wasn't any references to prove it... according with the 1964 BROMLEY v. COMMISSIONER case, "Standard Games of Hawaii" (Irving and Martin's former company) continued until 1945, at which time it was sold... there's also this ad on April 2, 1949 issue of the Billboard magazine which proves that Service Games, Havaii had already been formed... so... congratulations... that's a great finding :) ... In what newspaper did you found that article?...--Asagoth (talk) 13:02, 30 June 2019 (EDT)
- This is the source as I have written it in my term paper " “Notice of Co-Partnership”. Honolulu Advertiser, (1946, December 28), pp. 12. " Honolulu Advertiser being the newspaper. It was not that difficult to find because I just needed to narrow my search down to Hawaii around the 40's. A friend of mine did help me out a lot by showing how the site even works. -Konim96
- Yep... I know that kind of "websites"... I stumbled on one of those some time ago... when I was looking for some info about Korwin Hailey (The guy that Bromley put in charge of Service Games, Nevada),... my workaround was printing a portion (the one that counted) of the page with "microsoft print to pdf"... not really professional... but is better than nothing... here's the not so great, but decent, result... it's all yours... thank you very much for your help :) ...--Asagoth (talk) 18:39, 30 June 2019 (EDT)
- No problemo, always glad to help :D Now, perhaps someone should edit in my find. Considering I never did that before, perhaps someone else should do it. I uploaded the image on this website, though I might have named it poorly. Someone should fix that XD -Konim96
- Ok, for reference, I just noticed you did all that by yourself already. I do apologize. I am an idiot who is very tired XD - Konim96

- We save magazines and newspapers here at our central repository "Retro CDN" which serves our two wikis "Sonic Retro" and "Sega Retro"... you can upload it there to use it as a reference in the articles using this template... if you prefer... --Asagoth (talk) 21:35, 30 June 2019 (EDT)
