Yasumaro Hotta (堀田 泰丸) is a former programmer who worked in Sega's CS2 department, both before and after the 1995/1996 restructures. He was born in July/August, having the Leo star sign, and his blood type is O[1].

In his introduction in the 1994 issue of Harmony, he clarified that his name is pronounced Yasumaro, not Yasumaru[1]. Likely because of this, he also used the alias Maro[2].

While his first 2 games were platformers, in the developer messages for Clockwork Knight 2[2], he expressed interest in making an RPG and a "pretty girl game", similar to Blue Seed: Kushinada Hirokuden or Magic Knight Rayearth, which could apply to Sakura Taisen, the last game he is known to have worked on.
