Hardware
The Game Gear Micro is designed to resemble the original Game Gear model at 40% of its original size, measuring at 80mm width x 43mm height x 20mm depth with a 1.15-inch screen, albeit with the buttons enlarged. The system uses two AAA batteries for power, although a micro USB B cable can also be used as a power supply.
Much like the original system, the Game Gear Micro comes in a selection of four colours: black, blue, yellow and red. Only four games are included with the system, with the selection of games differing for each colour. A "Big Window Micro", a smaller version of the Big Window II accessory designed to fit the Game Gear Micro, is included when buying all four models at once.[1]
A special white version was included with Aleste Collection for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Features
When turned on, the Game Gear Micro presents the player with a graphical interface displaying the covers of every game included on the system, much like the Mega Drive Mini. By pressing , the player can toggle between displaying the spines and the full covers. An icon indicating remaining battery power is displayed in the top-right corner of the screen and is generally hidden during gameplay, but will display if battery power becomes low.
The settings icon in the top left of the menu will give the player the option to view the credits or software licenses, or to erase all save data.
