Initial D Arcade Stage Ver. 3, known as Initial D Arcade Stage Ver. 3 (頭文字 D ARCADE STAGE Ver.3) in Japan, is an arcade sequel to Initial D: Arcade Stage Ver. 2. This version adds Tsuchisaka, Shomaru, and a variation of Akina when it is snowing. Irohazka's Uphill now no longer needs to be unlocked to select. New cars include the Lan Evo V and VI, the ER34 From Special Stage, and the Mazda RX-8. A special version of this game was released for the Cycraft arcade cabinet titled Initial D: Version 3 Cycraft. The Cycraft version of the game removes card support and simplifies upgrading your car. This version of Initial D would be the last version released for the NAOMI 2 with later entries using PC-based hardware. Sega Logistics Service announced it would end service on the machines on March 31, 2017.[2][3]
