Korwin was a United States Air Force World War II veteran, where he served as a Central Fire Control Gunner with the rank of Technical Sergeant, aboard the Boeing B-29 Superfortress heavy bombers[3], City of Scotland Neck[4] and Southern Drawl[5], as a member of the Twentieth Air Force 39th Bomb Group (VH), Crew 14[6] (San Francisco, California).
