Sega ID is a Japanese online service used by SEGA as an 'all in one' solution to linking their various game services, be it on PC, Arcade or Console, to a single account usable across all these platforms. SEGA ID replaces the SEGA Link system which ended on April 27th, 2007.

Availability

The Sega ID service is exclusive to Japan. English releases of arcade games with online features often have their online service removed or altered.

Phantasy Star Online 2 notably substitutes the cross-platform authentication present in its Japanese version with cross-platform Xbox Live authentication.
