Sega World Tomioka (セガワールド 富岡) is a former Japanese Sega World venue. It closed in 2011. The Tomioka branch was one of the many casualties in the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster of 2011. Although originally closed for repairs from the hit of the earthquake, the arcade never reopened after the accident. [1] The arcade is within the Red Zone implemented by Japanese Government as where heavy radiation lies and is not accessible to the general public; this in which ultimately forced the arcade's closure. Due to extensive damage to the building, it remains standing deteriorating beyond repair. The branch and town overall was ultimately left abandoned due to radiation, this deemed the arcade games left behind in the venue unsalvageable. As of present day, it remains standing.
