History
Development
Virtual Golf had a protracted development timeline, having originally been announced for the Mega CD as Tee-Off with an unknown release date before being moved onto the Sega 32X as Tee-Off! (not to be confused with the Sega Dreamcast game, Tee Off) and expected to arrive in February 1995[7]. The 32X version was cancelled, and much of the original press material, involving extensive use of pre-rendered 3D imagery was not used in the final product.
Tee-Off! was renamed The Scottish Open, and later The Scottish Open: Virtual Golf before settling with just Virtual Golf. A Sega Saturn port was started, before becoming the sole version of the game, and it was released in early 1996.
