Actua Golf (アクチャーゴルフ), known in the United States asVR Golf '97, is Sega Saturn golf game developed by Gremlin Interactive. An entry in the company's Actua Sports series, it was first published in Europe by Gremlin Interactive themselves in September 1996, was later published in the United States by Interplay in December 1996, and was localized and brought to Japan by Naxat Soft in April 1997.

    History

    Development

Actua Golf's roots date back to 1995, where it was originally announced (in North America at least) as VR Golf '96 for release in February 1996[6]. It is thought to have been delayed for the best part of a year, becoming VR Golf '97 in the process.

    Legacy

The game would spawn two sequels, Actua Golf 2 and Actua Golf 3 respectively, though these would bypass the Saturn in favour of the PlayStation.
