Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame is the sequel to the 1989 hit Prince of Persia. Released for DOS computers in 1993, ports were made to the Apple Macintosh in 1994 and the Super Nintendo in 1995. It was followed by Prince of Persia 3D, which saw a release on the Sega Dreamcast and Windows PCs in 1999. Prince of Persia 2 is more action packed than its predecessor, focusing less on dungeon mazes and more on fighting and puzzle solving.
A port to the Sega Mega Drive, due to be released in 1996 was planned, but cancelled. Development of this port was handled by Microïds, and the game was to be published by Psygnosis. Drx released a prototype of the Mega Drive game on August 11, 2006, which dates back to February 20, 1995. Though more graphically accurate to the DOS original than the SNES port, it is let down by squeaky music and other flaws due to its incomplete status. There is also less time to complete the game (75 minutes) and the health colors have been reversed for some reason.

Mega Drive port of Prince of Persia 2, sequel of one of the greatest games ever. In a quick comparison, this port is worse than the SNES one (sadly). This game was canned for unknown reasons. From hidden-palace.org
