History
Development
Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle was first unveiled on March 10th 2019 with a website going up the next day.
Broadcast
In Japan the anime began airing on October 7th, 2019 on TBS and Tokyo MX. For North American and European viewers, the anime is simulcast on the same day as Japan by FUNimation Productions on their streaming service. For South East Asian viewers, Muse Asia simulcast the anime on their YouTube channel hours after a Japanese episode airs. On October 23, 2019 the anime would begin simulcasting on AnimeLab for Australian and New Zealand viewers using the same subtitles as FUNimation's stream.
The official subtitles provided by FUNimation and Muse Asia have some notable differences in their translation, phrasing and terminology. The subtitles used on FUNimation and AnimeLab's simulcast use the term "Falspawn" to refer to the D-arker type creatures. Character names are also spelled in a way similar to their official Sega of Japan spelling.
In comparison, Muse Asia's translation leaves most terminology untouched and spells character names much closer to the ARKS-Layer fan translation.
