Richard Davant Stewart III^[4]^[5]^[6]^[7]^[8]

Personal life

Richard Stewart was born in El Paso, Texas on January 5, 1925 to Richard Davant Stewart Jr.^[9]^[10] (son of Richard Davant Stewart^[11]^[12] and Anne Caroline Hardy) and Mary Vermillion Stewart^[13]^[14]^[15] (née Johnson^[16], daughter of Dr. Henry Franklin Vermillion^[17]^[18]^[19]^[20]^[21]^[22]^[23]^[24] and Ida Kate Gray Vermillion^[25]^[26] of Eastland, Texas) and his brothers were William Robert Stewart and Henry Vermillion Stewart, both of San Francisco, California and James Franklin Stewart^[1]^[2]^[27], a rancher from Kelowna^[28], British Columbia, Canada, who ran the Casorso, Bulman and Chilco ranches under the business name of Kelowna Ranch, Inc.^[29] (incorporated on April 27, 1960^[30] as Kelowna Ranches, Ltd.^[31]^[32]), all descendants, through their father, of the Davant family, a Huguenot family who emigrated from England to Georgia in the 1700s.
