Shinichi Sakamoto (坂本 慎一) is a game developer with roles as a director and composer since the early 80's. He has also been a producer and programmer.[1]

He is best known for his time at Westone, particularly for his work on the Wonder Boy franchise, creating music and sound effects for Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair, Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap and Wonder Boy in Monster World. His skill with guitar can also be heard in Monster World Complete Collection Original Sound Track.[2]

He retired from sound creation in the mid-2000's in favor of directing and managing mobile games,[1] but returned to the field in the 2021 with Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, the Game Gear Micro, and Clockwork Aquario, which holds the Guiness World Record for the longest time between a videogame project start and final release.[3]
