Atlus West is an American subsidiary of Atlus, originally established in 1991 as Asuka Technologies, Inc.. It has seen multiple name changes, becoming Atlus Software, Inc. within a year of its inception, trading as Atlus Co., Ltd. (like its Japanese parent) in the mid-to-late 90s, before settling on Atlus U.S.A., Inc. until 2019 (save for a brief period between 2010 and 2014 when it was known as Index Digital Media).

Atlus West's function is to translate Japanese games into English; with Atlus' merger into Sega in 2013, this remit extended to Japanse-made Sega games too.

As of 2016, Sega Games consolidated Atlus U.S.A. into Sega of America and as a result, future games are published by Sega under the Atlus banner while maintaining its autonomy.[1]
