The Apple TV is a digital media player and microconsole created by American technology company Apple. It runs tvOS, a derivative of the iOS smartphone operating system with a 10-foot user interface designed for televisions. It supports pairing Bluetooth game controllers, including the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch controllers. Software is built using similar tools and frameworks as iOS, including the Metal graphics API, and distributed through the same App Store. As such, developers can add tvOS support to existing iOS software with only minor changes needed.
