The Sega Mega Drive version of Flash Point is an updated version of the 1989 arcade game. Its existence was unknown until being included in the 2006 PlayStation 2 compilation, Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol.28: Tetris Collection.
The Mega Drive Flash Point derives from its arcade counterpart, however features a two-player co-operative mode and a level editor. It is also slightly different aesthetically, similar to the Mega Drive version of Tetris when put next to its System 16 counterpart.
It is unknown whether Flash Point suffered a similar fate to Sega's Tetris - dropped from the release schedule due to a lack of valid license for home console conversions of the game.
