The Product Development Team was Sega of America's first internal video game production team, established in 1989 to kickstart the production of domestically-released Genesis titles to support the American marketplace.[4]
History
In early 1992, Product Development Team's game development and production responsibilities were split off into Alpha Group and Omega Group to assist Sega of America's Clyde Grossman in managing his various producers.[5]. The team's audio capabilities were incorporated into the newly-established Sega Multimedia Studio in an attempt to refocus around the CD-ROM and the upcoming Sega CD.[2]
