Ryuichi Taki (瀧 隆一) is a producer and manager at Sega of Japan. He first worked in arcade game sales. He has produced entries in the arcade series Maimai, Code of Joker, Wonderland Wars and Chunithm, and several versions of the mobile game Chain Chronicle, before becoming an acting amanger and transitioning into the home console game market[1].
Career
After graduating from a university in Australia, Ryuichi Taki joined Sega and worked in arcade game sales, supporting 10 countries, mainly in Southeast Asia. He received acclaim for his knowledge of end users and market trends, so after about 5 years was asked to become a producer. The first game he produced was Maimai, which became one of Sega's most successful arcade games of the 2010's. He would follow this up with Code of Joker, Wonderland Wars and Chunithm[1]. After Sega Interactive was established, he began producing mobile games, most notably Chain Chronicle starting with ver 2.7.0 in 2016.
Taki became an acting manager in 2019, and a year later the amusement-focused Sega Interactive and consumer-focused Sega Games were merged[1], which led to him overseeing developers at Sonic Team.
