The SG Mega Star is a third-party joystick for the Sega Mega Drive released by QJ.
Hardware
The SG Mega Star is the "Sega version" of QJ's earlier "Mega Star" joystick (itself being part of QJ's "star" range of joysticks), and complements both an "orange" DE-9 home computer version, and a "red" "NI Mega Star", intended for the Nintendo Entertainment System. SG Mega Stars are identifiable by the use of blue plastic, and the need for , and START buttons omitted from the original design. The joystick itself is microswitched and like other controllers in the "star" range, uses translucent plastic.
