Tecmo, Inc. (テクモ) was a video game development company founded in 1967 as Tehkan Ltd. (which it used until 1986). It has seen successes with its Dead or Alive, Fatal Frame, Gallop Racer, Monster Rancher, Ninja Gaiden and sports series.
Tecmo merged with Koei to form Koei Tecmo in 2009. Though the Tecmo brand was still in use in 2009, it was dropped the following year; the name is still used in the company name.
