Hydro Thunder is a power boat racing game and the first in the Thunder series by Midway Games. Originally released in arcades in early 1999, it was ported to the Sega Dreamcast as a launch title in both North America and shortly after launch in PAL regions later in the year. It was later ported to other consoles, though the Dreamcast version remains the closest version to the arcade game.

History
Legacy
Several plans for a sequel were put in place, but none emerged until Hydro Thunder Hurricane was released for Xbox Live Arcade in 2010. The third entry to the Thunder series, 4 Wheel Thunder was released for the Dreamcast in 2001.
