Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Volume 1 is a compilation for the Sega Dreamcast. It is essentially the same as the Sega Saturn game, Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits, but with higher quality emulation, although it lacks the bonus features present on that collection. It was followed by Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Volume 2.

A working title appears to have been Midway Arcade Flashback.

Games included

  • Defender (1980)
  • Defender II (Stargate) (1981)
  • Sinistar (1982)
  • Joust (1982)
  • Robotron 2084 (1982)
  • Bubbles (1982)

None of these games were actually created by Midway, but were instead created by Williams Electronics, whose assets had become part of Midway Games when this game was released.

Gameplay

Despite its name and willingness to show an arcade stick on the front cover, Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Volume 1 is not compatible with the Dreamcast Arcade Stick. This is because movement is typically assigned to the analogue thumbstick rather than the D-Pad.
