M30 Gamepad is a third-party controller for the Sega Mega Drive released by 8BitDo in February 2019 alongside the Mega Sg.[1] It has a 480 mAh rechargeable battery and a USB-C port for charging.[2]

It was sold in two variations, a Bluetooth version and a 2.4G version that uses a proprietary RF protocol. The Bluetooth version is more compatible and is marketed as being compatible with the PC, Mac OS, Android, and Nintendo Switch, in addition to the Mega Drive with a separately sold Bluetooth dongle. The 2.4G version has lower latency and includes a dongle for the Mega Drive control port, to which it is permanently paired.

It has a similar shape and button placement as the standard six button control pad, with the addition of two shoulder buttons L and R similar to the Saturn controller. It also has Star, Select, and Home buttons under the  START  button. The Star button can be used to enable turbo for any of the trigger buttons (except on the Switch, where it acts as a screenshot button).[3] The Select button acts as a  MODE  button on the Mega Drive.[4] The Home button invokes the system menu on the Mega Sg. The Bluetooth version also has a button on the top of the control for pairing.
