Shogun 2: Total War, also written as Total War: Shogun 2, is a strategy game developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega for Windows PC. It is the sequel to the 2000 game Shogun: Total War.
The game is set in 16th-century feudal Japan, with the player taking on the role of a warlord intent on ruling Japan.
Four versions of the game were released, in addition to a downloadable version on Steam:
- Standard Edition - game only.
- Limited Edition - extra faction, battle scenario, online content and experience points.
- Collector's Edition - same as Limited Edition, with bamboo-style box, art book and figurine of the historical figure Takeda Shingen.
- Grand Master's Edition - same as Collector's Edition, with chess set (UK and Australia exclusive).
