Phantasy Star Online 2 (ファンタシースターオンライン2) is a PC MMORPG developed and published by Sega, released in Japan in early 2012. A PlayStation Vita port was released in early 2013 and a PlayStation 4 version is planned for 2016. The game is a true sequel to the original Phantasy Star Online (unlike Phantasy Star Universe) however it takes features from all of the series, including Phantasy Star Portable 2. It features a brand new combat system similar to hack and slash games such as Devil May Cry and Bayonetta with the ability to run and climb on enemies includes a revamp of the Ranger combat playing more like third person shooters such as Lost Planet and the return of MAGs.
Multiple party quests are also a new addition to the game, with multiple parties grouping together to succeed in difficult challenges (like raids in MMORPGs)
