The King of Fighters: Evolution, known as The King of Fighters '99 Evolution in Japan, is based off the NeoGeo arcade version of The King of Fighters '99: Millennium Battle. First released in Japan on March 2000, the game did not see an American release until May 2001. Like it's predecessor, the game was never released in Europe.

Gameplay

Changes from KoF '99 include 3D stages and the addition of striker characters. In the Japanese version, the game is compatible with the Neo Geo Pocket/Dreamcast Setsuzoku Cable, which allows you to transfer your points won in The King of Fighters: Battle de Paradise to speed up the leveling process for Extra Strikers.

History

Legacy

In Japan, the game was followed with The King of Fighters 2000.
