GameWorks Sawgrass Mills was a GameWorks entertainment center opened by Sega GameWorks. It was located within the Sawgrass Mills shopping complex in Sunrise, Florida, in the “Oasis” section. It was the mall's flagship tenant.
The venue's operation was taken over by Sega Entertainment USA in place of the dissolved GameWorks parent company in 2004. While initially surviving the first roundup of closures in March 2010, the venue shuttered later on in the year at an unknown date.
On October 14, 2011, it was announced that GameRoom would take over the former spot, with a restaurant run by the Johnny Rockets hamburger chain.[2]. In September 2016, the venue was sold again to Family Entertainment Group L.L.C., who rebranded it as "In the Game".[3] The venue remains as such to this day.
