Tecmo World Cup '92 (テクモワールドカップ'92) is a 1992 port of Tecmo's 1990 arcade game Tecmo World Cup '90 to the Sega Mega Drive by SIMS. The American release, distributed by Atlus, is called simply Tecmo World Cup. During development it was tentatively known as World Cup '90 MD[7]. A European version was planned, but failed to see release[8].

Sega was also in the process of making a Sega Master System port which would become Tecmo World Cup '93 — a prototype ROM of that with the name Tecmo World Cup '92 circulates.

Gameplay

The game is a conventional pseudo-3D soccer game. A and C pass the ball; B kicks.

Teams

Tecmo World Cup '92 offers 24 different national teams from across the world, although the choices aren't based on any official tournament from the era. While most use English names, for some reason a small handful teams are known by their native tongue.
