UFO Catcher 21 (UFOキャッチャー21) is a crane game released by Sega in 1996.
UFO Catcher 21 is a successor to UFO Catcher Excellent, and comes equipped with various minor improvements over the previous model. The crane mechanism itself was made less prone to failure, the playfield and prize chutes were enlarged, an LCD screen was added to display machine settings and data, and four sizes of claw arms were provided with the machine to allow for a variety of prize types. Gone, however, are the cranes with "faces" (the look has been reverted to one similar to New UFO Catcher), and in their place, a laser targeting system was added to assist players. There is also a built-in configuration for the Christmas period, in which the regular music tracks are substituted for Christmas alternatives.[1] [2]
