sub-stubThe Faery Tale Adventure is an RPG originally developed and published by MicroIllusions for the Commodore Amiga (as The Faery Tale Adventure: Book I) in 1987. Four years later it was ported to the Sega Mega Drive by New World Computing and published by Electronic Arts in North America and Europe.

stubPAGENAME is a Sega Mega Drive role-playing game developed by New World Computing and published by Electronic Arts. A port of the titular 1987 MicroIllusions game The Faery Tale Adventure, it was first released in the United States and Europe in July 1991, with an Australian release following soon after.

The Mega Drive port is the only console version of The Faery Tale Adventure, though is seen to struggle due to a reliance on the three button Mega Drive control pad when the game was originally optimised for use with a mouse. The Mega Drive version also omits the original subtitle "Book I", presumably because at this point it was assumed MicroIllusions would produced a "Book II". Eventually a sequel did appear as Halls of the Dead: Faery Tale Adventure II, released for DOS and Windows PCs in 1997.

The Faery Tale Adventure is a Sega Mega Drive role-playing game developed by New World Computing and published by Electronic Arts. A port of the titular 1987 MicroIllusions game The Faery Tale Adventure, it was first released in the United States and Europe in July 1991, with an Australian release following soon after.

Versions

This version of the The Faery Tale Adventure is the only home console port the game has received. However, due to its reliance on using a standard game controller (as opposed to the original's keyboard and mouse), it has gained a reputation as being inferior to the original Amiga release.

Six Button Control Pad compatibility

While the game is technically compatible with the Mega Drive's official Six Button Control Pad, the D-pad is overly sensitive, and appears to move the cursor for each frame the pad is held, resulting in the menus being extremely difficult to navigate.
