Shuichi Katagi (片木 秀一) is a programmer and technical director employed by Sega from the '80s until the mid '90s. He would later become affiliated with Cavia and AQ Interactive (present-day Marvelous AQL Inc.).

Common colleagues include Makoto Oshitani and especially Yoji Ishii. Since leaving Sega he continued to work at the same companies as Ishii.

According to Makoto Uchida, Katagi was very good at making punishing games with instant deaths, such as Fantasy Zone or Crack Down.
