Captain America and the Avengers is a beat-'em-up developed by Data East. Ports were made to the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Game Gear. Despite being developed by a Japanese team, it never saw a release in Japan. The music was arranged by Hitoshi Sakimoto, who is well regarded among Sega Mega Drive composers.

Gameplay
Mostly standard beat'em up with some auto scrolling sections. By holding down the attack button, it's possible to fire projectiles.
Trivia
For unknown reasons the game uses unoptimized color palettes, with lots of details getting lost due to neightbouring colors having a too similar shade. A fan made IPS patch exists that attempts to fix this problem.
