Assault Rigs (アサルトリグス) is a 1997 3D tank shooting game by Psygnosis for various platforms, including the Sega Saturn. The Saturn version was only released in Japan. C&VG #187 suggests a European May 1997 release, which never occurred[1], and a US version was planned, prior to publishers THQ dropping out of the Saturn market in the summer of 1997[2].
Gameplay
In Assault Rigs the player controls a tank, tasked with collecting a specified number of gems in a 3D stage before getting to a marked exit. Enemy turrets and vehicles are encountered along the way which can be destroyed with the tank's projectile, and likewise, the player loses a life if hit too often by enemy fire.
