Donald no Magical World (ドナルドのマジカルワールド) is a Sega Game Gear platform game. It features Ronald McDonald, mascot of the McDonald's fast-food chain. The game was only released in Japan. Curiously, if the player inserts the cartridge into a Western Game Gear, it is translated into English, revealing a unused title, Ronald in the Magical World. This suggests an international release was planned but cancelled for unknown reasons.
The game has many similarities to the Sega Mega Drive game, McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure, but there are differences in gameplay, story, and level design. Some music is shared between the two.

Story
A strange incident happens one day when Grimace finds a box and brings it to his friends, having no idea what to do with it. Birdie points out that the box says "DO NOT OPEN!" Hamburglar ignores the warning and opens it anyway, revealing a magical map. Suddenly, a wizard, known as Mr. Joke, emerges from the map and invites everyone to an adventure in his Magical World, proceeding to suck all of Ronald McDonald's friends into the map.
Seeing his friends trapped inside the map, Ronald notices that Mr. Joke dropped his magical stick in the process. With the stick, Ronald enters the Magical World and embarks on an adventure to rescue his friends from Mr. Joke.
Gameplay
The game is a platformer played as Ronald McDonald. He makes his way through four rounds consisting of four levels and a boss fight. For the first three levels of each round, Ronald must find a key to open a door that bars the way to the exit. The fourth level of each round is a vertical level where Ronald must climb to the exit.
Ronald moves with and and crouches with . He jumps with . He attacks by swinging the magical stick with . He can upgrade his attack by collecting items. He can deploy the magical stick into an umbrella with +, which can be used to protect him against enemies. He can move while the umbrella is deployed. He can deploy the umbrella in midair and use it like a parachute, which helps him control his descent and allows him to clear a wider distance horizontally. This is often necessary to jump across platforms in the game. The umbrella can also be used to catch water or air and propel Ronald upwards in some areas.
Ronald starts the game with three hearts, indicating his health. He loses a heart each time he takes damage from an enemy or a hazard. He can earn more hearts, up to a maximum of five, by winning bonus games, which are hidden throughout the levels. If Ronald loses all of his hearts, he loses a life and must restart the level. He loses one heart (down to a minimum of the starting three) and one attack level each time he loses a life. The game ends if he runs out of lives, but the player has unlimited continues.
