This short article is in need of work. You can help Sega Retro by adding to it.
The Sega Saturn port of Virtua Racing was not produced by Sega, but rather by Time Warner Interactive, who released it in 1995 as Time Warner Interactive's VR Virtua Racing (for some reason they considered VR part of the game's name, as evidenced in the in-game copyright screen). In Japan the port is called Virtua Racing Sega Saturn (バーチャレーシング セガサターン).
Contents
Gameplay
Time Warner Interactive's VR Virtua Racing is an enhanced port of the original game, expanding the number of tracks and vehicle types and introducing a "grand prix" mode. It does not contain anything from the Sega 32X game, Virtua Racing Deluxe (although both contain prototype cars). Also included is are different coloured teams to race under, and a CD audio soundtrack.
While graphically closer to the arcade version than the Sega Mega Drive version of Virtua Racing and Virtua Racing Deluxe, it continues to run with a lower screen resolution and with simplified level and vehicle geometry.
