Richard Davant Stewart III[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] was an American businessman and former Service Games key executive.
Personal life
Richard Stewart was born in El Paso, Texas on January 5, 1925 to Richard Davant Stewart Jr.[4][13][14], a service station operator from Canutillo, Texas (son of Richard Davant Stewart Sr.[15][16][17] and Anne Caroline Hardy Stewart, both of Tyler, Alabama), and Mary Vermillion Stewart,[18][19][20] a schoolteacher (later Mary Vermillion Johnson[21][22], daughter of Dr. Henry Franklin Vermillion,[23][24][25][26][27] founder and first superintendent of the Southern Baptist Sanatorium[28][29][30][31][32] of El Paso, Texas and Ida Kate Gray Vermillion[33][34], both of Eastland, Texas) and his brothers were William Robert Stewart and Henry Vermillion Stewart, both of San Francisco, California and James Franklin Stewart[1][2][35], a rancher from Kelowna[36][37], British Columbia, Canada, who ran the Casorso, Bulman and Chilco ranches under the business name of Kelowna Ranch, Inc.[38] (incorporated on April 27, 1960[39] as Kelowna Ranches, Ltd.[40][41][42]), all descendants, through their father, of the Davant family[43], a Huguenot family who emigrated from England to Georgia in the 1700s.
Richard Stewart married on June 19, 1949[5][6][7][44][45] in Honolulu with Nannette "Nettie" Adele Gomes[46][47], an usherette at the Waikiki Theatre (daughter of Jesse August Gomes and Adele Caroline McKeague, both of Honolulu[48][49]) and they had three children, namely Scott Kamana Stewart[50] (born July 1951), Grant Meiji Stewart (born October 1957) and Ray Taisho Stewart[46][47] (born September 1960).
Three of Richard Stewart's uncles, namely William Champneys Stewart IV[51], Judson Dunaway Stewart[51] and James Ogilvie Stewart Sr.[51][52], were well known distributors of petroleum produtcs in El Paso County. William Champneys Stewart IV owned the Humble Oil & Refining Company[51], Judson Dunaway Stewart owned the Service Oil Sales Company[53] and James Ogilvie Stewart Sr. owned the J. O.
