The cartridge has always been highly popular among Saturn fans for these reasons. It can still be purchased, as it appears to have been cloned and kept in production by sources who probably have little to no relation to the original manufacturer, one “EMS Industrial Ltd.” However, few to none(?) of these modern clones possess the communications port, making the original version with this connector much more rare and highly valued. Nonetheless, the circuitry apparently is still present, and the port can be added in ''via'' alterations to the cartridge [http://www.gamingenterprisesinc.com/DataLink/ARP.html].

The Action Replay Plus is a cartridge developed by EMS for the Sega Saturn. It has a vast array of features which make it a top accessory for Saturn owners, particularly non-Japanese systems.

All versions of the cartridge have four basic functions: the ability to enable the console to play games from all regions; it can act as both a 1MB or a 4MB Extended RAM Cartridge used with more demanding games; it can function as a Saturn Backup Memory cartridge and like many other products for various systems with the name, has a built-in cheat system.

On top of this, in its original incarnation, the cartridge included a communications port that enables one to link their Saturn to a PC for other purposes. This is not present in all versions of the cartridge.

The cartridge has always been highly popular among Saturn fans as it means the cartridge very rarely has to be swapped. The accessory was kept in production for many years after the Saturn's demise, though the original version with the communications port is much more rare and highly valued. Nonetheless, the circuitry apparently is still present in all versions of the cartridge, and the port can be re-added through alterations to the cartridge[1].

Though strictly made by EMS, there appears to have been a relationship with Datel who own the Action Replay trademark. Datel sold the Action Replay Plus in markets such as the UK (as the Pro Action Replay, though EMS ship worldwide.
