Spider-Man is an action game released for the Sega Mega Drive in 1995 by Acclaim. It is not to be confused with the earlier Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, released by Sega in 1991, which was also called just Spider-Man.
The game is based on the 1994 animated series of the same name. A somewhat different version for the Super NES was also released.

Story
Several of Spider-Man's most dangerous foes have escaped from Ravencroft prison (including Dr. Octopus, the Green Goblin, Alistair Smythe, and the Alien Spider Slayer), and Spider-Man must put a stop to them before they wreck New York City.
Gameplay
The game is an action platformer played as the costumed crime-fighter Spider-Man. Spider-Man must defeat the bosses of each stage in order to open the exit. The last boss of each stage drops a card, which Spider-Man needs for the last stage to open the way to the final boss.

Web Bolts can be fired in midair with . Spider-Man can also find special icons that allow him to call on a member of the Fantastic Four to assist him (selectable through the same menu as special weapons).
Spider-Man has a health bar in the top center of the screen, and he loses a life if he runs out of health. The game ends if he runs out of lives, but it can be continued as long as the player has continues remaining. There are three difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, and Hard).
