Phantasy Star II: Nei's Adventure (ファンタシースターII テキストアドベンチャー ネイの冒険) is a Sega Mega Drive graphic text adventure game developed and published by Sega. Initially released exclusively via the Japanese Sega Game Toshokan online game service in August 1991, it was later re-released as part of the Sega Mega-CD title Game no Kanzume Vol. 2 and the Sony PlayStation 2 title Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 32: Phantasy Star Complete Collection, and was also released as as part of Sega's B-Club service.
Available as part of an eight-game series collectively known as the Phantasy Star II Text Adventures, Phantasy Star II: Nei's Adventure concerns the story of the player's companion and party member Nei from the 1989 role-playing game Phantasy Star II.
Story
The game takes place in the spring of AW 1284, about 7 months before the events of Phantasy Star II.
This chapter features Nei (Japanese: ネイ, Nei) - a Numan created through an experiment to breed humans with biomonsters. After her escape from Neifirst, Nei has sought refuge at the home of an elderly couple, however, since Nei was not meant to exist, a bounty was placed on her. After being found by hunters, the home she belonged to was burnt down. Nei manages to flee to the nearby town of Paseo, where she wanders the streets looking for a place to stay. She has a few encounters with the hunter responsible for killing the people who took care of her, eventually leading up to her rescue by Rolf, who adopts her as a little sister.
