GameWorks Irvine was a GameWorks entertainment center opened by Sega GameWorks located in Irvine, California, at the Irvine Spectrum Center. The venue was originally traded as Sega City Irvine before it closed in March 1999, and was transformed into a GameWorks in order to increase attendance and profits.

The venue closed its doors between August-October 2002, likely due to excessive falling attendance. In May 2003, the newly-formed Fox Sports Grill chain announced to take over the space, with the new restaurant opening in June 2003.[2], trading until July 2008, after announcing a relocation to Anaheim.[3] The building remained vacant for a couple of years until it was announced in September 2011 that Paul Martin's American Grill would move into the space[4] and has remained as such to this day.

Venue

GameWorks Irvine was almost double the size of the previous Sega City arcade, ranging in at around 28,000 square meters compared to Sega City's 15,000 square meters. The venue retained its large arcade, alongside the addition of a restaurant and bar akin to other venues in the chain, as well as a mini Go-Kart attraction where guests can race around in mini carts on a racetrack that looped throughout the center.
