Sega Center Fox Hills Mall was an indoor Sega Center arcade once owned by Sega during the 1970s and 1980s. Following Sega's 1986 purchase of the arcade chain Time-Out, the venue was converted to Time-Out Fox Hills Mall.
History
Originally an arcade from California's Kingdom of Oz chain, it and five other locations were purchased by Sega in 1976[1] and rebranded as a Sega Center arcade. The Fox Hills Mall venue appears to have been one of the more successful indoor arcades to be operated by Sega. It was home to a 1977 promotional Star Wars interview with Carrie Fisher, and is prominently featured in the 1983 horror anthology film Nightmares.
Following Sega's 1986 purchase of the larger arcade chain Time-Out, the majority of remaining Sega Centers were again rebranded to Sega's Time-Out - including the Fox Hills Mall location. Ultimately, Sega would sell off the Time-Out chain in July 1990, and in the next few years the arcade closed altogether.[2]
