Thomas "Tom" Miley is an American software engineer and former Sega of America Director of Audio Technology. He served as an audio programmer and development tool creator[2] (particularly for the Sega Dreamcast), and was responsible for managing the company's various contracted musicians.[1] Miley also served as the manager of SegaSoft's Creative Support division, which included providing sound effects, music composition, recording, editing, and mixing for game audio.[1]

Career

Tom Miley was first hired at Sega of America by audio director David Javelosa[2] in April 1992[1], where his responsibilities included the management of audio software API development. He wrote the Audio64 device driver (ARM7) and a number of low-level audio drivers for the Dreamcast (as well as its Windows CE implementation), and additionally created the hardware audio specifications for the system when it was still known as the Black Belt. Miley also managed audio contractors on the company's behalf, and programmed the sound for various first and third-party titles.[1]
