18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker (エイティーン・ホイーラー) is a racing game developed by Sega AM2 for Sega NAOMI arcade hardware in 1999. In the game the player drives a large 18-wheel American truck from one destination to another, attempting to avoid obstacles (and rivals) so as not to damage the load. However, more points are awarded for fast times, and you must beat your rival in order to succeed.
The game was quickly brought to the Sega Dreamcast in 2000. After Sega pulled out of the hardware market ports were released for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube in 2001/2002 by Acclaim. 18 Wheeler was followed up by The King of Route 66 in 2002/2003.
